Mr. Scholz brings more than 30 years of transactional real estate experience to his law practice. Indeed, he put himself through law school working as a real estate broker in Southern Alameda County. He has been licensed by the California Department of Real Estate since 1977, and a real estate broker since 1979. An American Juris Prudence award winner in law school, Mr. Scholz has taught college courses in business law and California Department of Real Estate approved courses in real estate law. He actively litigated real estate cases for more than 22 years. Mr. Scholz limits his practice to transactional real estate issues and expert witness matters. Mr. Scholz has testified as an expert witness on such issues as real estate industry practice and standard of care in both residential and commercial contexts. He has also been appointed by most Bay Area Superior Courts to act as a receiver in complex real estate cases. Mr. Scholz has extensive trial experience, having tried cases in all Bay Area counties. He has represented Bank of America, Prudential Real Estate, Bay Bank of Commerce and hundreds of individual Bay Area real estate purchasers and sellers. He is also regularly retained to act as real estate transactional counsel to San Francisco Bay Area companies purchasing or selling significant real estate assets.
