Setting a Consultation

Evaluating selling your home by short sale—or permitting your lender to foreclose—leaves many homeowners feeling overwhelmed and understandably stressed. We have handled hundreds and hundreds of underwater mortgage cases. What we have found is, most property owners do not need ongoing legal representation. What they do need is a comprehensive consultation regarding their specific property.

Your Short Sale/Foreclosure consultation will be set by conference telephone call with our Senior Attorney, Fred J. Scholz. You can include others important to the evaluation of your loan issues (i.e., spouse or business partner) if you desire. Initial consultations are billed at a flat rate of $595.00 and generally last about an hour. If your initial consultation runs longer, you will not incur additional charges. In the month following your initial consultation conference call, you may ask follow up questions via email without further charges. Your questions are always answered by our senior attorney.

During your consultation we will provide you with all of the following:

• A summary of California law as it applies to your real estate mortgage issues. We will discuss what rights the bank has against you and what the bank cannot do...despite any threats made to you.
• We will walk you through the forecosure/short sale process so you will know what will happen, and why.
• We will provide you with our experience regarding clients' securing new loans after a foreclosure or short sale.

To set a consultation with our office, you will be required to do the following:

1. Pay your consultation fee of $595.00 via credit card.
2. Provide a brief overview of your real estate loan history for evaluation by our senior attorney. You may also be asked to forward copies of documents relating to your loans that need to be reviewed by our senior attorney prior to your consultation.

You will receive an email following your consultation request offering several consultation times from which you may select a time most convenient to your schedule. You may also receive additional email inquiries from our senior attorney prior to your consultation if our preliminary review of your loans indicates a need for additional information to make your consultation more meaningful.
